Over a year ago, I sat down with my boss at the school where I worked and told her that I would not be signing a full contract for the following year. With tears welling up in my eyes, I told her that I would be leaving half way through the year to pursue another profession.
It's one of those things where "You don't know what you got til' it's gone."
So after somewhat of a sabbatical, enlightenment, journey, detour, or whatever you want to call it...I'M GOING BACK TO TEACHING!!
My time away wasn't fruitless. I have been learning so much and my mind can't hold in all the ideas I have for the classroom.
THUS THIS BLOG.
This blog has 3 purposes.
1. Document my research, ideas, and experiments with classroom management, the psychology of learning, and principles for teaching.
2. Have a place to put up my curriculum in hopes that it helps somebody finds it useful other than myself.
3. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TO ME: Have a place to have honest conversation with other educators about teaching so that we all become better at our craft.
So as I am welcomed back to the world of lesson plans, papers, whining high schoolers, slow internet, and computer shut downs....amazing students, moments of breakthrough, standing on desks, and rapping to Spanish verbs....
... I also welcome you to the conversation. Let's do this!
